CLASS 2 License Achieved!!!

Rachael's Daycare is pleased to announce that we have been approved for our CLASS II State License. This will allow the daycare to add a few more children, while also adding a few helpers... therefore the adult:student ratio will go down. We all feel that this improvement will benefit all the students! If you have any questions about the new license, please don't hesitate to ask me. Thanks!

NURSERY RHYMES!

I'm so sorry that my blog updates aren't coming as quickly as they should. I am hopefully going to get better at updating more often. :-) We have explored a week of Nursery Rhymes! We did a "Humpty Dumpty" Experiement and the kids got to drop their own egg from a wall and see what happened! They loved being able to poke at the egg yolk and see what that felt like. It was a fun experiment! (and don't worry... nobody at any... ) Also, we did some tumbling ... just like Jack & Jill! We have had a lot of FUN PROJECTS AND EXPERIMENTS THIS WEEK! The kids love the "1,2,Buckle my shoe" and "This old Man" songs! My voice is officially sore from singing them so much! LOL!!! But, I love that the kids were that excited about it! We have more EXCITING CURRICULUM coming up this month! Next week will be SILLY SONGS week! I will have to rest my vocal chords over the weekend! LOL!!

More FUN in February...

The Valentine's Day Party was a lot of fun! The ice cream sundaes were, of course, a HUGE hit with the kids! Kelly and I, in an attempt to limit the mess, invited each child up individually to fix their very special sundaes. They all waited very patiently for their turn. We had strawberry topping, chocolate topping, marshmallows, sprinkles, M&Ms, whipped cream... pretty much everything you could possibly want on ice cream! Some of the kids had to have a little bit of everything on their sundae! I think the biggest surprise for me was that naptime was still successful even after such a sugar rush! LOL!! They also did a great job on their Valentine "Mailboxes" (aka...white lunchbags!).

February SUCCESS!!

This month has been packed with activites and I'm so happy to report they were all a wonderful success. The kids really enjoyed the visit from Miss Angie. They learned a lot about taking care of their teeth... and they especially loved meeting "Gina the Giraffe". They will all be taking good care of their teeth now!

Valentine's Day Party!!!

We will be enjoying a Valentine’s Day Sundae bar! The kids will be able to decorate their own ice cream with fun treats! We will also be making Valentine Mailboxes to collect any Valentine Cards & Treats that the kids get! If you choose to have your child bring Valentine Cards and/or treats for the kids, please include all the kids. Also, Parents, you may be receiving a special present from your kids… we’ll have to wait and see!

TOOTH TIPS WEEK!!

This Week all the kids will be learning about their TEETH! On Wednesday we will be welcoming a guest from a local Dentist office, Miss Angie! She will be talking to the kids about taking care of their teeth and she will be bringing goodies! Talk to your kids about keeping their teeth clean so we can reinforce all the fun things they are learning this week! Thanks!
